If I Should Die Before I Wake by Han Nolan
This book is SO sad and kinda confusing. Its about a Neo- Nazi girl that somehow gets stuck in a Jewish girls body. The Jewish girl, Chana, has to live her life very differently than us. But I don't get how her and her family can be so comfortable in their home when every time someone knocks on the door there is a possibility that it could be a Neo- Nazi there to take them away. I don't understand! I would be terrified that any day I would be separated from my family, and I cant live without my family! If I, for some reason, got separated from my family, I don't think I could function! Without my family I am nothing and I have nothing! That's how much my family means to me!

The Clique is about a girl trying to fit in and other girls trying so hard to make her feel unwelcome. People have problems everyday because of cliques! I was watching a little story on the news this morning how girl have gotten in SO many fights because they were just being mean. And about 99% of the time, it was a clique problem! Both girls, the victim and the causer person, both got charged with.. something... but, the point is, the BOTH went to jail! Now-a-days people think its okay to get in a fight, but sometimes things can get out of control and just get too hard to handle. Just like in The Clique by Lisi Harrison.

So we have been talking about symbolism in class. My group has decided that three of the main symbols in our book was chalk, he Neo-Nazi armband, and the bread.The chalk represents emptiness and how Chana can be crumbled easliy, but when she needs to she can be strong and stay together. The Neo- Nazi armband stands for control and power. And the bread stands for hope. And how when they eat, they know that they will be alright and that they will have another meal. And how that the bread is kinda like the light at the end of their tunnel. The bread is their light.

So in The Clique, the girls are being drawn apart becuase the new girl, Claire, is cooler than the Queen Bee, Massie, say she is. The girls; Kristin, Dylan and Alicia, have to follow Massie, but they start to relieze that Claire is actually a really nice person and has a lot in common with all the girls. The followers try to tell Massie that Claire is a good person, but she doesn't listen to them. I hope she will though.

Readers Response- Chapter 2-3

These chapters go back and forth between Hilary (Neo-Nazi) and Chana (Jew). They show how the girls worlds are VERY different. Hilary just overlooks what the Jews have to go through, but when she  "becomes" Chana, she relizes that being treate like this is a sucky life style and that NO ONE should be treated like this.

This book is about a Neo-Nazi that gets trapped in a Jewish girls body. She has this vision thats like a dream and she sees what the Jewish people  have to go through. She relizes that they have it very hard and that they need to be nicer to them because things like watching your father get shot and hung right in front of you is really hard to watch and that they have the worst life style. Being scared in your own, everyday, world just sucks and its NOT how you should ever live.

So in the other readers reasponses you probably read about the book The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. I reasently saw Bratz: The Movie and they are kinda the same thing. In The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, the girls get seperated by college and then get sucked into their own cliques. And in Bratz: The Movie, the girls are best friends and when the go to high school, they get spereated into their own cliques too. But the differences between the two, is that in Bratz: The Movie, the girls overcome the clique and in The Sisterhood, they try, but they can't overcome the cliques.

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants is a really good book. I have been sucked in to it since the first book. I saw the movies first but I think the books are way better! The second movie has the part of the second, third and fourth books all in one. I hate it when that happens! But this book is like about the four girls that are totally different personalities. And when the girls go off to different college, the get attracted to their own cliques and lose eachothers friendship..

So I have been reading The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants Series and I am on book 3. I think that the relationship between the girls are breaking up. Whenever me and my friends go to college, I hope we won't get broken up like the girls in this book. I think that the pants idea was a good at first, but now its just become a hassle...
